Kaede é uma aluna alegre e enérgica da oitava série. Quando se trata de meninos, porém, ela é extremamente tímida. Um dia, voltando da escola para casa, Kaede entra em uma loja misteriosa e compra uma caneca colorida de chocolate. Quando ela chega em casa, ela espia casualmente o fundo da caneca e descobre uma nota gravada, que diz: "Se você ler esta mensagem em voz alta enquanto coloca chocolate quente na caneca, uma fada do amor ("muglox") aparecerá e realizará todos os seus desejos." A cética, mas curiosa, Kaede segue as instruções e anuncia seu desejo de namorar Yuuki, o galã da turma. De repente, aparece o adorável Mirumo azul! Logo descobrimos, porém, que esse muglox bonitinho prefere comer chocolate e fazer travessuras a ajudar Kaede. Mirumo, ao que parece, é o príncipe do mundo muglox. Horrorizado com a perspectiva de ter que se casar com Rirumu, sua futura princesa, Mirumo escapou do mundo muglox. Em seus calcanhares, no entanto, estão Rirumu, Yashichi, o caçador de recompensas, e um elenco de centenas de muglox que vão do bom ao ruim e ao maluco.
