O Imperador Pilaf finalmente colocou as mãos nas Black Star Dragon Balls após anos de busca, que são consideradas duas vezes mais poderosas que as normais da Terra. Pilaf está prestes a desejar dominar o mundo quando é interrompido por Gokuu Son. Como resultado, Pilaf frustra seu desejo e acidentalmente transforma Gokuu novamente em uma criança. Depois que o desejo é atendido, as Black Star Dragon Balls se espalham pela galáxia. No entanto, Gokuu descobre que eles farão a Terra explodir, a menos que todos sejam trazidos de volta dentro de um ano. Unindo-se a sua neta Pan e ao jovem Trunks adulto, Gokuu parte em uma aventura pelo universo para encontrar as Black Star Dragon Balls e salvar seu planeta da destruição.
